Making Connections
Partial Scholarships are still available for the online relationship-building tool "Making Connections: Strong Relationships Help Keep Kids in School". This self directed online tool gives you ideas and strategies on how to build stronger relationships with the kids you work with and to help keep them in school. This innovative resource, made possible by Portland State University, is designed specifically for adults who work with kids at risk of dropping out. Southern Oregon Meth Project Forum
, March 3rd, All Day Event, Ross Ragland Theater Lobby and Mainstage
Great News! Congressman Greg Walden and Scott Burns, deputy director of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, will be attendingthe meth forum hosted by the Southern Oregon Meth Project and its corporate sponsors. The teen presentations are 9:30-11:30a.m. and 12-2p.m; the community wide presentation is 7-9p.m. The keynote “Adolescent Brain Development and Chemical Dependency” will be presented by Dr. Karen Williams, co-founder of the National Brain Trust Alliance. We still have seats available at the 12-2p.m. teen forum if those of you affiliated with schools would like to bring more students that you currently have signed up. **see attached flyers**

TRAIL BLAZER TICKETS!!!???
Oregon Mentors is working closely with NBA Trail Blazer Greg Oden.They hopethis new partnership will encourage more men to mentor.
Greg donated 30 tickets to every home game to Oregon Mentors. He asked that these tickets go towards kids and their mentors or groups of kids with an adult chaperone. There aresaved weekend tickets for programs with a long distance to travel. Oregon Mentorswould like to offer your program tickets to one of of these weekend games:
Saturday, March 15th at 7 pm
Saturday, March 29th at 7:30 pm
Sunday, April 6th at 3:00 pm
Saturday, April 12th at 7:00 pm

We understand that some programs do not allow mentors to travel with children, and other programs cannot bring kids to events as a group. Please consider if your program could accept the free tickets and let me know. Tickets will be given out first come, first serve, so please get in touch with me ASAP to reserve your best date.

The Community Health Fair is sponsored by OHSU School of Nursing and Sky Lakes Medical Center. The Health Fair will be held at the Mabel Liskey Henzel Pavilion 2200 N. El Dorado Avenue Klamath Falls, OR 97602.The eventis Saturday March 8thfrom 8am-2pm and theYDN will be appearing at the "Kids Corner". We will have an informational tableand will behelping kids construct Shadow Puppetsforimpromptu skits. Two-Way Street Tour to Southern Oregon

Meyer Memorial Trustwill be hitting the road to meet with nonprofit organizations in a number of communities inSouthern Oregon in March. Program Officer Sally Yee and Program Associate Kimberlee Sheng will attend community meetings in Shady Cove, Ruch, Medford, Talent, Cave Junction and Grants Pass during the first week in March 2008.

CEO Doug Stamm describes it this way: "This tour is part of MMT's increased outreach efforts to help nonprofit organizations better understand our foundation and the changes we recently announced in our programs and to help us learn more about the communities, organizations and people we exist to serve."
MMT plans a series of tours across the state. The first tour was in northeast Oregon last September. Watch http://www.mmt.org/news/latest/#n716 for announcements about future tours.
